  3. I just watched an old movie where a kid was eating cracker jacks...made me miss them. We were so easily contented back then :-)

  4. June: Seemed a little wrong that mine came out of a bag (shouldn't they be in a box?), but what can you do? Things change. :)

  6. I love that stuff! Used to love those waxy boxes and the stuff inside. Always seemed kind of old-fashioned, and I loved it.

  12. ECL: I've known several people from Singapore and learned even more about it from your blog, but I didn't know they don't have Cracker Jacks!

It's a snack with popcorn and peanuts covered in caramel. There's always some kind of prize inside the package, like a simple game or toy ring. In this case it was a picture of young Abraham Lincoln that you could fold to look like Lincoln as an adult (a bit out of the ordinary but it was his 200th birthday this year).

We associate this snack with baseball games, but that's not the only time we eat Cracker Jacks. Since it's been around a long time, there's a lot of nostalgia associated with it for people who grew up in the U.S. Something you'll have to try if you're ever in the States!

Thanks so much for the information and taking the time to explain to me. I appreciate that. I'll definitely try Cracker Jack if I travel to USA. :)
